Future is Green
Frankly, there is nothing kind about mankind. We are abusing nearly 90% of non-renewable energy
sources to meet our needs. We are exhausting it so rapidly day-by-day that by end of this century
we may not have any fossil fuel resources left for us anymore. We humans are to blame for this mess.
But wait a minute. The future is not all that grim. There is a flurry of new, green,
clean and sustainable technologies that are being launched everyday. Awareness for
using renewable resources has been rising. And with the support of the government,
people and, most importantly the corporate world, we can turn the tide over the
problem of communities lacking sustainability.
Today sufficient power can be generated, to lead a modern life, through our daily waste. Just imagine we don’t have to mine and spoil the environment for coal to generate electricity. Instead, we will be using the very bio/food waste that pollutes our city to generate energy ‑ bio-gas or power. What’s more, we can also exploit other natural sources like solar energy and wind energy, which are found in abundance. New energy harvesting technologies like electricity generating tiles or algae are creating a huge excitement.
Even as we see that the green technologies are gaining momentum, it is still at its nascent stage.
For it to gain scale and have the desired impact in saving the environment, a lot more needs
to be done. And it is not just the responsibility of only the governments, the NGOs or the scientific community.
That’s where business has a big role to play. Today, green business is just not about not-for-profit anymore.
It is very a viable and profitable business that brings positive results for all stakeholders.
Taking cognizance of this trend, we have launched InnoVentura - a green marketing company
that aims to ‘make a difference’ to the bottom line and to the environment.
Since we are to be blamed, why toss the problem around. Just change yourself to bring in the change.
